Kala cotton is a rustic, textured cotton native to Kutch, India and grown by farmers without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. It is a hardy, rain fed crop that produces a raw, textured, & honest fabric. 

This cotton would be a great match for rustic and textured quilts & garments alike for a lived in, heritage rich feel. 

The Details & Care

This fabric is manufactured in 5 yard cuts. When selecting your desired quantity, please choose to order from whichever cut has your needed length in stock. If you need more than one cut has available, you’re welcome to order across cuts. Just know your fabric will arrive split into the quantities you ordered from each, rather than as one continuous piece.

• 114cm/44.9 in wide.
• 100% organic cotton.

• Country of origin; India.
• Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
• For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
• Wash at 30 or 40 degrees with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble.
• As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
